NotebookLM Mastery
Master NotebookLM — Google's AI research assistant — to summarize, query, and listen to your documents. 8 lessons for paralegals, accountants, therapists, researchers, and anyone document-heavy.
If you read 30 PDFs on a busy week and most of your job is making sense of them, this is the course you’ve been waiting for.
NotebookLM is Google’s AI research assistant. Upload PDFs, Google Docs, audio files, or web links — up to 50 sources on the free tier. Ask questions in plain English. Get cited answers that link back to the exact page where the information came from. Generate a 12-minute “Audio Overview” that two synthetic hosts will narrate to you while you commute, walk, or wait between meetings.
It’s free. It works on your phone. And — used well — it changes the shape of a document-heavy week.
This course teaches you the workflow that makes NotebookLM genuinely useful — not the marketing-pitch version. You’ll learn what sources work and which ones embarrass the model. You’ll learn the queries that get specific cited answers vs. the vague ones. You’ll learn when NotebookLM is the wrong tool and a different choice is better.
By the end, you’ll have a real notebook built around your own work, a set of five reusable queries, and the judgment to use AI document research without trusting it blindly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a paid Google subscription?
No. NotebookLM has a free tier with 50 sources per notebook, 50 daily chats, and 3 Audio Overviews per day. Most professionals never hit those limits. The course covers the free tier; paid tiers are mentioned where they meaningfully change capability.
Is this safe to use with confidential client documents?
It depends on which Google account you sign in with. Lesson 3 walks through the privacy decision tree — personal Google vs Workspace, what gets stored where, and when redaction is the right move. We don't recommend uploading identifiable client data to a personal Google account.
Will the course still be useful if Google updates NotebookLM?
Yes. The course teaches the underlying skills — picking the right sources, writing specific queries, the privacy decision tree, choosing the right tool for the job. UI buttons may move; the principles don't.
How long does the course take?
About 90 minutes total across 8 lessons. You can complete it in one sitting or spread it across a few days.
