Professional Certificate in Sales
Close more deals without working more hours. Use AI to research buyers, write outreach people reply to, and forecast honestly — while you own the relationship and the truth of every claim.
Why this instead of a traditional degree?
- 4 years (or a generic bootcamp) — heavy theory, taught before AI reshaped the job
- $40,000-$120,000+ in tuition, or a course that predates AI outreach entirely
- Curriculum has not integrated AI into prospecting, forecasting, or coaching
- Teaches manual research and generic scripts, not an AI-augmented motion
- No treatment of AI misrepresentation risk or cold-outreach compliance
- 3 weeks — hands-on with AI across the whole selling motion from day one
- Included with Pro subscription
- Built for 2026: AI research, honest forecasting, conversation intelligence, compliant outreach
- Cross-platform: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — plus the judgment of when NOT to automate
- Teaches the truth discipline and the review-before-send gate that keep AI from wrecking your reputation
What you'll learn
Build a complete prospect-to-close motion with AI — research, outreach, qualification, discovery prep, and follow-up — deciding at every step what to automate and what stays human
Analyze a target account and its buying committee to build a buyer-intelligence brief that names the economic buyer, the champion, and the real pain
Write outreach that is legal (CAN-SPAM / GDPR), genuinely personalized, and true — and pass every message through a review-before-send gate
Analyze sales conversations to prepare for objections, run AI roleplay, and catch what an AI call summary flattened or missed
Use AI to keep a pipeline honest — CRM hygiene, deal-risk signals, closed-lost mining — and forecast without turning one good month into a quota commit
Examine truthful-claim risk in AI-drafted content so battle cards, case studies, and proposals never promise what the product can't do
Explain where AI genuinely helps a seller versus where it invents capabilities, prices, or stats a buyer can hold you to

About this program
Most people think “AI for sales” means letting a tool blast personalized emails while they sleep. That’s the fastest way to torch your domain, your reputation, and occasionally your company’s legal standing. This certificate teaches the real craft: an AI-augmented selling motion where the machine does the research and the drafting at scale, and you — the human — own the three things it can’t. You own the relationship, because buyers still buy from people. You own the truth of every claim, because when AI invents a feature or a discount, the buyer holds you to it. And you own the judgment of when NOT to automate, because the rep who sends unreviewed AI outreach is the cautionary tale, not the top performer. Thirty-six lessons across eight modules, each hands-on, each with a real deliverable.
Across the program you build one thing, progressively: a complete sales system. Module 1 gives you a buyer-intelligence brief that names the economic buyer and the champion. Module 2 maps your whole motion and marks where AI helps and where it hurts. Module 3 turns outreach into something legal, genuinely personal, and true — with a review-before-send gate you’ll never drop. Module 4 makes you sharper in the conversation: discovery, objections, roleplay, and catching what an AI call summary flattened. Module 5 keeps your pipeline honest — dirty-data awareness, deal-risk signals, and forecasting without turning one good month into a quota you can’t hit. Module 6 builds enablement content that never over-promises. Every module hands you a piece; by Module 6 you’re holding a working kit.
The capstone puts it all together on a company you’ve never seen: Northwind Freight, a mid-market logistics-software seller. You’ll run the entire motion solo — ICP, prospect list, outreach, discovery prep, objection playbook, and a forecast — then self-score against the same rubric a sales leader would use. By the end you won’t just know that AI helps in sales. You’ll be able to run the motion with AI as your force multiplier, catch it when it lies, and know exactly which parts of the job are yours to keep — which is the definition of a rep who gets more valuable as AI gets better, not less.
Prerequisites
Recommended before starting: three courses covering the individual sales skills this certificate wires into one system — outreach and discovery, deal conversations, and buyer research. The certificate builds the full motion, the compliance discipline, and the judgment on top of them.
Cold outreach, discovery-call basics, objection responses, and proposals with AI — the individual selling skills this certificate assembles into a full, repeatable motion.
Interest-based negotiation, preparation frameworks, and BATNA — the deal-conversation groundwork the objection-handling and closing lessons build on.
Surveys, interviews, personas, and journey maps — the research foundation the buyer-intelligence and ICP work extends to a sales-specific, one-named-buyer depth.
Frequently asked
Will AI replace salespeople?
The transactional, scriptable parts of the job are being automated — but the relationship is not. Gartner predicts that by 2028 AI agents will outnumber human sellers roughly tenfold, yet fewer than 40% of sellers will say those agents improved their productivity — and that by 2030, three in four B2B buyers will prefer sales experiences built around human interaction, not AI. The pattern is consistent: reps who use AI well replace reps who don't. This certificate makes you the first kind. AI does the research and drafting at scale; you own the relationship, the truth of every claim, and the judgment of when NOT to automate.
Do I need to buy Gong, Salesforce, or an AI SDR platform?
No. Everything in this certificate runs on free tiers of ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. We teach the enterprise tools (Gong, Chorus, Clari, Salesforce Einstein, AI SDR platforms) at the concept level — what they do, where they help, and where they mislead — so you can use them well or evaluate them, without needing a paid seat to complete the work. The skills transfer to any stack your employer uses.
Is this only for B2B, or does it work for B2C sales too?
The core motion — research a buyer, reach out honestly, qualify, handle objections, forecast — works for both. The examples lean B2B (named buying committees, longer cycles, MEDDIC) because that's where the buyer-intelligence and pipeline work is richest, but the truth discipline, the compliance rules, and the coaching loop apply just as much to a high-consideration B2C sale (real estate, financial services, high-ticket coaching). What's out of scope is store-side e-commerce conversion — that's a different craft.
Isn't 'AI personalization' just spam with a first name inserted?
Done badly, yes — and that's exactly the failure mode we train you to avoid. Cold email that carries the hallmarks of automation now fails on two fronts: buyers ignore the obviously-scraped opener, and inbox providers punish it (about one in six cold emails never reaches the inbox, and crossing Gmail's 0.1% spam-complaint threshold can permanently kill your domain). Real personalization — specific, true, tied to something that actually matters to that one buyer — roughly doubles reply rates, and only about 5% of senders do it. AI makes real personalization cheap enough to do for everyone; this certificate teaches you to do it without crossing into creepy or fabricated.
What if the AI invents a product feature or a discount that doesn't exist?
That is the single most important risk in this certificate, and a whole module is built around it. When AI drafts a follow-up email that claims your product does something it doesn't, or offers a discount your company never approved, the business owns that claim — buyers can hold you to it, and it can create real legal exposure through negligent misrepresentation or contract disputes. The rule you'll internalize: a claim you can't verify is a claim you can't make, and nothing reaches a buyer without a human reviewing it for truth first. Never auto-send.
What prerequisites do I need?
Three short courses are recommended first: Close More Deals with AI (outreach, discovery, objections, proposals), Negotiation Skills with AI (deal conversations and preparation), and Customer Research with AI (personas, interviews, journey maps). They teach the individual skills; this certificate wires them into a full, repeatable, AI-augmented motion. If you already sell for a living, you can move quickly through the early modules, but the prerequisite skills are assumed from Module 1 on.
Do I need coding or technical skills?
No. Everything works through AI chat interfaces you already know how to use. You'll learn to read what conversation-intelligence and forecasting tools produce and to spot when they're wrong, but you won't build or configure anything technical. The one hard skill this certificate demands is judgment — knowing what to trust, what to verify, and what to keep human.
How is this different from the Marketing certificate?
Marketing generates demand; sales converts it. The Marketing certificate speaks to segments and audiences — campaigns, channels, ad creative, brand. This certificate speaks to one named buyer with a quota clock running: the specific account, the specific committee, the specific deal. Where they touch (outreach copy, ICP), marketing works at segment scale and sales works at individual scale. Deep campaign and channel craft is intentionally out of scope here — that's Marketing. If you want to build pipeline and close deals, this is the one.
How is this different from a negotiation course or certificate?
The deal-conversation basics you need to move a deal forward — discovery, handling objections, closing language — are fully in scope here. What's out of scope is deep negotiation craft: multi-party negotiations, procurement chess, BATNA architecture, complex concession strategy. Those belong to a dedicated negotiation program. This certificate gives you working objection-handling and closing skills; it doesn't try to make you a master negotiator, and it doesn't wait for one either — sales needs these skills now.
How long does it take to complete?
About 3 weeks at a few hours per week, fully self-paced — 36 lessons across 8 modules. Most learners finish in 2-4 weeks depending on schedule and how much they already sell. The first two lessons are free with no login; the rest requires a Pro subscription.
What AI tools will I use?
ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini — all on free tiers. You'll use them for account research, outreach drafting, discovery prep, objection roleplay, call-summary work, pipeline reviews, and enablement content. Along the way you'll learn which one to reach for and, more importantly, when to verify what any of them tells you before it reaches a buyer.
Is this recognized by employers?
You earn a verifiable Professional Certificate in Sales with a unique credential ID you can add to LinkedIn and your resume. More persuasive than the certificate itself is the portfolio you finish with: a complete, documented AI sales system for a real company — buyer briefs, a motion map, an objection playbook, an honest forecast, and enablement assets. In interviews, showing that you can run an AI-augmented motion (and know its failure modes) beats any line on a resume.
What's the difference between this certificate and the prerequisite courses?
The courses teach individual skills — how to write a cold email, prep a discovery call, handle an objection, build a persona. This certificate teaches the system: how those skills connect into one repeatable motion, where AI fits and where it must not, how to stay legal and truthful at scale, how to forecast honestly, and how to keep improving with AI as your coach. Skills are the parts; this is the engine that runs them — and the judgment that keeps the engine from driving you off a cliff.
