Clients are already planning with AI. In a survey of more than 1,600 North American travel advisors that the tour operator Goway published in September 2026, 89% said clients had come to them with their own AI research, and the advisors named the same three problems again and again: impossible trips, places that do not exist and prices that have nothing to do with real travel costs. The draft is easy now. Checking it is the job.

This course teaches the routine on a free AI assistant, with an invented sample trip that contains nothing private. In Lesson 2 you build a reusable prompt that writes a day-by-day draft and tags every fact you still have to check. Then you learn to keep client data out of the chat, put every day on a map, check hours and prices at the source, look up entry rules passport by passport, audit a client’s own AI plan and turn your checked draft into a proposal that says what was checked and when.

The AI never gets the last word. Every lesson ends at the same place: a page you opened yourself, with the date you opened it. If you want the background first, read our guide to drafting itineraries with AI, then verifying them.

What You'll Learn

  • Use one reusable prompt to turn a trip brief into a day-by-day draft that tags every fact you still have to check
  • Write a trip brief that describes the trip, not the person, and set the data controls of ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude before you paste it
  • Check every day of a draft on a map and at the venue's or supplier's own page, and record each check in a dated ledger
  • Find the official source for each traveler's entry rules, passport by passport, including the stopovers
  • Audit a client's own AI itinerary, sort what you find by risk and reply without talking down to them
  • Create a client-ready proposal that says what is booked, what was checked and when, and when you will check it again

After This Course, You Can

→ Turn a client's wish list into a structured first draft in one sitting, and spend your time on the checks and the judgment clients pay you for
→ Catch the impossible transfer, the weekly closing day and the old price before the client does, with a dated record of each check
→ Answer a client's own AI itinerary with a clear, respectful review that shows what you know and they don't
→ Send proposals that say plainly what is booked, what was checked and when, so nobody reads a draft as a promise
→ Show your host agency, employer or clients a written draft-and-verify routine you built yourself, ready for your portfolio or resume

What You'll Build

AI for Travel Advisors: Draft and Verify Client Itineraries Certificate

Frequently Asked Questions

Can ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini plan a client's trip for me?

They can write a fast first draft: the day-by-day shape, ideas, the order of places. They get opening hours, prices and transfers wrong often enough that one marketing agency's own test, run from 24 September to 13 October 2026 on each platform's best model with web search on, counted 8.3 to 11.2 errors per 100 recommended stops for the three of them. Government travel services warn about wrong visa and border information too. The course treats every draft as a list of claims and teaches you to check each one at its source before a client sees it.

Is it safe to paste client details into a chatbot?

Describe the trip, not the person. Lesson 3 shows what stays out (names, passport numbers, dates of birth, card details, medical reasons), how to write the needs a trip must meet without them, and where the data settings of ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude are. Check your host agency's or employer's rules first. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do I need a paid AI plan or special travel software?

No. The prompts are plain text for ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, and each of the three has a free plan (the October 2026 test above scored their free models too). The checks use a map and official websites. If you work in an itinerary tool with AI built in, the same routine applies to its drafts.

What if a client sends me the itinerary they made with AI?

Lesson 6 is about exactly that: how to audit their plan, sort what you find into must fix, should fix and could improve, and write a reply that thanks them for the head start without talking down to them.
